On the 9th March, Mrs Harvey created a beautiful rainbow fish with Year 1. Thank you Mrs Harvey!
On the 8th March, Year 1 watched an exciting owl show. The children were then allowed to have a photo taken with the owls.
World Book Week (27th Feb-3rd March). Year 1 had a wonderful week full on exciting events. The children really enjoyed the parent story telling and they looked fantastic in their book character costumes on Thursday! Well done Year 1.
On 10th February , Year 1 took part in a fruit workshop. The children had the opporunity to taste all different kinds of fruits such as a dragon fruit and a star fruit. Yum!
On Friday 1st February, Year 1 visited Chinatown. They took part in an interactive storytelling workshop at the Chinese community centre. This was followed by a walk around Chinatown and a visit to a Chinese restaurant. A great day!
On Friday 11th November, Year 1 was visited by a Hare Krishna Temple. The morning started with a presentation about the Hindu religion followed by some Diwali role play. After break the children had the opportunity to dress up and have face paint. Finally we took part in an Indian music workshop. A fantastic morning!
On Monday 3rd October Year 1 visited St. Alban's Cathedral. We began by getting the bus to St. Peter's Street where members of the public commented on how wonderfully behaviour the children were. Once we arrived, the children took part in a guided tour around the building. They learn about things such as christenings, Easter , Holy Communion and the story of St. Alban. After that we enjoyed our lunch and a bit of sunshine in the park. Finally we attended a clay tile work shop which the children thoroughly enjoyed. A fantastic day out had by all!
