Wow! Can you believe that we are over halfway through our final half term in Year 2? This week is especially exciting as we welcome many members of Year 2 back to school! I am extremely excited to see you all again and to find out more about what you have been doing over the last 12 weeks. Of course, we understand that some of you are unable to return so we have matched the home learning to what we will be learning in school as it is important that you do not miss out.
Please find below the planning for the week and any additional resources you may need. On Wednesday, you should complete the activities on www.phonicsplay.com (to consolidate your phonics knowledge), www.letter-join.com (to practise letter formation and handwriting), www.ttrockstars.com to practise your times tables and www.nessy.com to develop your spelling and reading. If you are not in school, please remember to send your learning back to Margaret Wix via the stamped addressed envelope provided or via our home learning email: email@example.com .
I can’t wait to see you all on Monday!

Hello Year 2 (the best class in the world!)
We've done another week's learning- yippee!
Thank you for always putting a smile on my face with all of the lovely stories you tell me and by sending in some fantastic home learning. Thank you to the wonderful Year 2 parents for being so kind, supportive and for working so incredibly hard to keep our children in good routines. It doesn't go unnoticed and we really do appreciate you!
This week is International Week so lots of our learning will link to an amazing country in south Asia called Bangladesh. Have you heard of it? This is where my parents are from- I have visited it three times in my life and it will always hold a special place in my heart! I truly hope that you enjoy learning about this beautiful country through this week's activities. Below you will find the planning along with any additional resources you may need for Week 4.
Keep going, we're nearly there!

Another 7 days have flown by and here we are in Week 3! I hope you have all had a brilliant week and enjoyed speaking to Miss Ward on the phone- she loved hearing your voices and finding out about all of the things you have been up to!
All of the teachers at Margaret Wix are missing each and every one of you! We absolutely LOVE seeing your hard work- it really does make our day so keep sending your fantastic work to firstname.lastname@example.org. If you are receiving packs at home, you now have a stamped addressed envelope so you can post your work back to school! Please find the planning and any additional resources you may need for Week 3 below.
Have a brilliant week and try to make each day count :)

Hello Year 2,
It is always one of my highlights talking to you all on the phone and last week was no exception! It's been great finding out about who has been celebrating birthdays, who is now riding a bike without stabilisers, who has been helping out around the house by doing chores and who has been developing their gymnastic and handwriting skills! It's also really lovely to hear that lots of you are managing to keep in touch by sending each other homemade gifts and letters. I am so proud of you all for staying positive and making the most out of a strange situation. Fingers crossed we will see each other soon! In the meantime, please find the planning and resources for Week 2 below.
Please note that this week we are expecting all parents to engage with the school by sending in their child's learning to: email@example.com. I am really looking forward to seeing all of the wonderful work and thank you so much to those of you have regularly been sending your child's work in.
See you soon

Hello Year 2!
It was absolutely lovely speaking to you all on the phone this week and finding out about the things you have been doing to stay active and keep busy. This week is Health and Wellbeing Week which means I would like you to make some extra time to make sure you do some of the things you really enjoy and spend some quality time with the people you love. I wonder if you can spread some kindness this week too?
I have loved looking at all of the work which has been sent through to our home learning email so far. Congratulations to Arisha who was our Learner of the Week in Year 2 last week! Remember to work hard on all of the tasks this week and it could be your name that Mr Johnston announces in his Celebration Assembly this Friday! Below you will find the planning for Week 5 as well as any additional resources you may need.
Have a fantastic week and keep working hard. I am very proud of each and every one of you. Keep smiling and I'll see you soon!
