A huge thank you to our incredible PTA for organising such a brilliant summer fair. From the choir and country dancing entertainment to the delicious food, stalls and games, there was something for everyone to enjoy. It was wonderful to see so many families and members of our community coming together; your generosity has helped raise valuable funds for our school, benefitting all of our children.

Children from across the school had the exciting opportunity to take part in a steel pan workshop, learning about the history of the instrument before trying their hand at creating some fantastic music themselves. They also listened to the pans being played and enjoyed identifying the songs and joining in with some singing. It was wonderful to see so much curiosity as the children explored something new and such respect towards our brilliant instructors from Steel Pan In Motion

A huge thank you to Steel Pan in Motion for bringing the sights, sounds and spirit of Trinidad and Tobago to Margaret Wix - it was an unforgettable experience!

There were some fantastic individual performances, including victories in the girls’ throwing event and the Year 6 boys’ 100m sprint, as well as an impressive second-place finish in the girls’ long jump. We were also delighted to see seven of our athletes qualify for the sprint finals in their respective year groups – a fantastic achievement in such a competitive event. There were several other strong performances too, including a couple of agonisingly close fourth-place finishes in the girls’ long jump and throwing events.

Most importantly, every child demonstrated outstanding self-belief and resilience, giving their best in each event and supporting one another throughout. As always, we were incredibly proud of their behaviour, sportsmanship and the way they represented our school.

Well done to all of our athletes on a fantastic District Sports campaign!

Starting from 100 runs, the team accumulated an impressive 83 runs with the bat to reach 183. Losing just one wicket throughout the innings meant a deduction of only five runs, giving Margaret Wix a final score of 178.

The opposition scored 72 runs from their batting innings to reach 172, but the loss of seven wickets resulted in a 35-run deduction, leaving them with a final score of 137.

It was a fantastic all-round display, with strong batting, sensible running between the wickets and disciplined fielding helping the team to a well-deserved win. Well done to everyone who took part!

Ask and ye shall receive!

Cardinals very much enjoyed their trip to the British Museum where we saw lots of mummies, sarcophagi and rare artifacts from Ancient Egypt. The behaviour was outstanding and they truly did Margaret Wix proud!

The event was a huge success, raising lots of money towards the Year 6 leavers’ celebration while showcasing the children’s creativity, teamwork and business skills.

One child, clutching an ice cream in each hand, summed up the afternoon perfectly when they declared it was “the best day ever!”

A huge thank you to all the parents who supported the children and helped make the event such a success.

Thanks to the hard work and artistic talents of Mrs Garcia and Mrs Jeffries, we have created a stunning Margaret Wix mural that everyone can enjoy for years to come. The children and staff have all added handprints and fingerprints, to flowers and bees to create the most beautiful artwork.

We also started painting the fence thanks to a very kind and hardworking parent volunteer. There is a bit more to do but hopefully we will get it completed very soon!

The children loved being part of this special legacy artwork and we know they will love using the outdoor area for the rest of the half-term

Year 3 had originally planned to plant bulbs directly in the ground; however, the recent dry weather meant the soil was too hard. Instead, they have created these beautiful new tubs, carefully planting a range of hidden bulbs that we look forward to seeing bloom later this summer and again next spring. They also have plans to plant additional daffodil bulbs next week.

Thank you so much to all the parents and carers that came and talked to the children about their learning. The children loved sharing their computing skills with you and even teaching some of you too!

We were also so lucky to have online safety experts from ECP share some incredibly important and hard-hitting messages about how to keep children safe in this ever-changing world

The teamwork and determination on display was brilliant to see from start to finish. It’s clear that they have been working hard on their positioning, passing, shooting and defending at netball club and it’s paying off. Every player gave their all and supported each other throughout the match too. We’re so proud of you all - what a result!

We are so proud of our year five team, who achieved 𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝 place, out of 164 teams, in the HFL Primary Maths challenge!

Thank you to everyone who baked cakes; we have raised over £160 so far and there are still more to be sold at the music concert tomorrow! Yum yum!

The game included:-

*an over head shot from Max - just superb;

*a triple save from Jenson - safe hands;

*double trouble in defence, Fiaz and Sudaiz, didn't make it easy for anyone to get through;

*skilful tackles from Reggie;

*Zain supporting all over the pitch;

*awesome crosses from Adnilo;

*Daniel's impressive speed.

Outstanding team work, resilience and sportsmanship were the most fantastic things about the whole game.

Next stop, some silverware!

We can’t wait to start incorporating it in all kinds of projects across the curriculum. What is even cooler is that this printer even has our school name on it, together with our learning powers!

Apollos enjoyed dressing up in digits for NSPCC Number Day today. We have been working hard in our PE lesson this afternoon doing circuits and thinking about how we can improve our fitness levels.

Cardinals looked at cross-curricular applications of Maths. In PSHE we have been designing gardens for the needs of specific groups and so we used our Maths skills to start working out how much they would cost to build. Just wait until we impose a budget for their designs!
