World Book Week - week commencing 1st March

Monday 1st March - Today we will not be online AT ALL. Instead you are expected to complete a mixture of activities about BOOKS, since World Book Day is this week! Please follow the document below and choose at least one of the books and activities to look at.

Thursday 4th March -Drop everything and read!

We will have our morning lessons online as usual.  Then this afternoon will be devoted to reading.  Have a look through the ideas attached and choose an activity.

We have been so impressed with all your hard work online over the past two weeks.  There is so much to learn and we know that it is all new to you, but you are all doing so well.  Well done all!

Just a little reminder to you all that you should be reading everyday.  Mr Johnston announced in assembly last week that we will still be counting Give me Ten when we return, so it is really important to continue practising your reading at home and gathering those points for reading everyday.

There are also some online websites that school provide that you can be playing to practise your phonics, reading, writing and maths.  I have put all the links below with reminders as to how to login.

• Times Tables Rockstars - www.ttrockstars.com Your login is in the back of your reading record.  If not, contact me and I will find it for you! Not everyone will have Times tables rockstars.

• Oxford Owl (e-books to read) - https://home.oxfordowl.co.uk/reading/free-ebooks/ Once you have registered for free, you have access to lots of free online books!  You can sort by age or reading level.

Remember every week, I will look to see who has been playing the most, collecting the most nuggets or coins and if you work hard, it might be YOUR name that gets called out in assembly!

Happy New Year Emperor Class!

We hope you had a relaxing break during the holidays.  Sadly, we will not be seeing you in school at the moment, but below is a list of activities to keep you busy on Tuesday, before we start our online lessons using Teams.  Your login to Teams is stuck in the back of your Reading Record and we will be in contact to make sure you can log onto Teams.

Please remember to bring a pencil and paper with you to lessons and make sure that you are up, dressed and ready to begin each day at 9am.  We will see you for online lessons from Wednesday.

All work can be returned via the homelearning@margaretwix.herts.sch.uk email.
