Excellence, Creativity, Individuality!

Science week 2023

Welcome to Science week 2023, where we shall be exploring all things 'Connections' whilst addressing some of the important United Nations sustainability goals.

We have a fun-filled week planned, with many external professionals in, sharing their job roles and expressing that Science really is everywhere.

Alongside the fun in school, there is a competition out of school too. Please see the document below for more details.

We cannot wait to hear all about the fun you have shared with your class, during a special Science celebration on Friday afternoon.

*Winners of the competition will be announced during the Science assembly that the children will attend on Friday afternoon.

Science week fun

An amazing week had by all at Margaret Wix!

EYFS explored 'Life on land,' Year 1 discussed 'Life below the water,' Year 2 focussed on 'Zero hunger,' Year 3/4 addressed 'Climate action,' Year 5 spoke about 'Good health and well-being' and Year 6 looked to the future, as they researched 'Affordable and clean energy.'

Below, you will see a variety of photos ranging from; our amazing external visitors who we were extremely lucky to have join us across the week, the children's work, displays created in school and our teacher swap afternoon.

I would like to thank all the staff here at Margaret Wix, for not only helping me create a memorable week for the children, but for always going above and beyond in everything they do. I would like to add an extra big thank you to all our visitors who gave up their time for free, to provide amazing experiences for our children. Our visitors were:

* Rothamsted Research Centre

* Yoga with Josie (www.yogawithjosie.co.uk/family-yoga-workshop www.yogawithjosie.co.uk/yoga-for-teenagers)

* NHS Blood England

* St Albans community pantry

* Kate Black Nutrition

We hope the children had as much fun as we did.

Mrs Ralph
