Margaret Wix Primary School

11. How accessible is the school environment?

The school is fully compliant with the Equality Act and reasonable adjustments are made for all pupils with SEND where necessary. Most parts of the school are wheelchair accessible. A visual impairment line aids transition between the KS1 and KS2 buildings for pupils with visual impairments and the school has clear, bright signage. There is access to calm spaces in both the KS1 and KS2 buildings and the school has a sensory room in the KS1 building. Specialised equipment is provided where appropriate for pupils with SEND and advice is sought from the appropriate medical/health professionals to ensure all pupils’ health and physical needs are catered for within the school environment. Improvements to the school site are planned for on a rolling 3 year accessibility plan.
