This afternoon, year six went on a trip to St Albans Fire Station for Crucial Crew (a multi-agency initiative that teaches essential life skills through interactive, real-life scenarios).The children learned how to keep themselves and others safe in a variety of ways, including: near open water, around people who may exhibit anti-social behaviour, when crossing roads and near electrical substations. They were also taught how to look after their mental health, how to put someone in the recovery position and how to identify fire hazards. The experience is important as our year sixes become more and more independent, ahead of going to secondary school in September. As always, we were pleased to hear lovely feedback from the Police Community Support Officers about how polite, respectful and engaged our pupils were!
