What have the children at Margaret Wix Primary School been up to? For even more day to day interactions with the experiences of our children please visit our Facebook page.
Monarchs are enjoying their first trip of the year this morning: we are at St Albans Fire Station learning about a variety of dangers and how to act to keep ourselves and others safe.
We’ve learned about wearing high-visibility clothing at night, simulated the impact of alcohol using special goggles that made us disorientated, found out about electrical hazards in and around of the home, explored potential problems in and around bodies of water and much more!
The children have been praised already by the police officers, fire service officers and members of the council, who are running the event, for their attentiveness and involvement. Well done Monarchs!
Firetips welcomed a beautiful visitor on Friday 23rd September as they have been learning about pets and chatting about their favourite animals, within their literacy focus of family and me! It is important to get the children excited about their learning and today with Petal the horse, we did just that. The children were all so eager to get out and have their time with Petal, petting her, cleaning her and chatting to her!
Next week, children in Firetips class have a visit from High Oaks Dental Practice and Mrs Khan, a nurse from a local doctors' surgery. These visits are not only to enhance the children’s knowledge of people who help us, but to build confidence when having to visit the dentist and nurse. We can’t wait for them to come!
Firetips opened its doors today to welcome our families to see how well our newest recruits have settled into life at Margaret Wix Primary School. It was a busy day as we also welcomed Alban Fed trainees to see how amazing life at Margaret Wix is learning about how we help our children to learn!
