What a treat this morning from Cardinals class!
The sharing assembly was very informative and it was great to see what the children have been learning in school.
We opened our doors again to welcome the parents and carers from Firetips Class! This time our littlest learners showed their special people how they learn maths. It was inspiring and the comments from the parents were extremely positive.
“Really great to see her in her environment, learning and playing so well.”
“Thank you all so much for her time here - so wonderful.”
“We get very little information from her, so it’s nice knowing what has been doing!”
“Seeing how she is learning so we can continue at home. It’s also nice seeing how confident she is in class with the other children.”
“It was very educational and age appropriate.”
“Lovely to see what the children are up to!”
“You’re amazing teachers – thank you!”
“Nice to see the daily routines.”
"Thank you for all you do! My son loves going to school and I'm so impressed with how far he's come."
Cardinals Class are loving their ukulele lessons!
Thank you to the wonderful author Stephen Pass, who spent the afternoon with Cardinals class for a remote writing workshop. We learned a lot about the process of writing and publishing a book, as well as how to write short hand. We also added a couple of new dance moves to our repertoire! If you would like a signed copy of Stephen's book 'Madge Mermaid', please let the school know. Details have been sent home in a letter this afternoon.
We had a fantastic time on our local walk this morning! We read different signposts and road names, we spotted different types of houses, the shops, the church and drew and labelled different human and physical features. We were very proud of the children’s great listening and behaviour. Well done, Hummingbirds!
The bears 'bopped' their way to school this morning with a huge gathering of children. It was so lovely to see so many children walking to school encouraging daily exercise, community cohesion and looking after the environment and of course...lots of fun!
Lots of guesses have been made as to who the bear's real identities were, I wonder who they were...
Its been NSPCC Speak Out Stay Safe this week and the school has been recapping who they can speak to if someone or something is making them feel worried or sad. We learnt that it is never ok to have people or things make us feel this away and that they all have a right to feel safe and speak out. We also learnt the number for Childline - I wonder if you can spot it in one of our pictures…
Hummingbirds loved having some of our parents in today for a wondrous writing lesson! The children wowed us with their fantastic writing about how Mr Big was feeling by the end of the story. We tried to use adjectives in our writing and extend our sentences using more than one. Amazing writing
Skye and Kay from Year 6 Monarchs have produced some amazing DT electronic games, complete with working buzzer.
Year 6 carefully planned their designs and used a range of cross curricular learning to be able to create their wire games.
Monarchs loved welcoming some of our parents and carers into our classroom this morning to see our wondrous writing! We have been working hard on using precise, ambitious vocabulary and varied sentence structures to describe the troll in the Harry Potter books. We also aimed to use semicolons to link closely related clauses.
