• Writing Workshop beginning Wondrous Writing Week!

  Thank you to those parents that attended our workshop about writing this morning that began Wondrous Writing Week! We came up with a brilliant piece of writing together and the parents that attended got a great deal out of it. Don't forget to join with your child's class this week and find out how they are taught writing.

  

• Capel Manor Trip for Cardinals Class!

  Cardinals enjoyed a fantastic day at Capel Manor Gardens this week. We were thinking scientifically about living things and their habitats. Thank you to our parent helpers for attending on the day.

  

• Aspirations Day

  Aspirations Day happened today and it was brilliant. It began with an assembly looking at what makes a good life and considering what the children might like to do as they grow older. This turned into a brilliant discussion across the school. We then took it in turns to meet a collection of people from a wide variety of different careers. We welcomed doctors, chefs, solicitors, sports people, life coaches, planners, training and development managers, charity workers and nutritionists. Wow!

  Comments from the visitors so far are, "What an absolute pleasure spending time with your students. Such wonderful young people!"

  "What a great experience - thank you for inviting me! What interested, friendly and polite children and what a pleasure to talk to them about their hopes and plans. They were a credit to you and your teaching team!"

  The children learnt so much, from Early Years to Year Six! Some of the children in EYFS have already decided what they would like to be:

  Abdul - a bee keeper

  Margo - a zoo keeper 

  Layan - an artist

  Nellie - a teacher 

  Dione - a ballerina 

  Peach - a doctor 

  Isabelle - a bunny vet

  Orsielie - a firefighter 

  Harley-River - a doctor 

  Amazing! We will add more photographs as they keep on coming! 

  It was a truly inspiring day and we hope it will encourage our children to be aspirational for their futures! 

  

• Bikeability Begins!

  Monarchs and Admirals have had a great start to their day on their preparation for bikeability course. They are having lots of fun showing us their cycling skills and some children have have even learned to ride bikes for the first time this morning! We are super proud!

  

• Travelling back in time with Admirals

  With the help of Admirals, we travelled back in time yesterday, to Ancient Egypt! They shared all of their learning about the topic in their assembly which included lots of historical facts. They also showcased their craftsmanship with their amazing headdresses. Additionally, we watched them walk like Egyptians and they even mummified Mrs Evans!

  The fun didn’t stop there though as Admirals also shared some of their learning from their Earth and space topic. We heard their brilliant news reports about the moon landing and listened to their out-of-this-world rap about the planets! Great work Admirals!
