  • DT Workshop for Years 2 and 5

    Wed 15 Nov 2023

Emperors and Admirals had the chance to explore their feelings through the creation of glove puppets this morning in line with their learning on textiles in their lessons. After making their design and deciding what feeling or emotion they’re wanted to represent, the children used a range of different materials to create a cute glove puppet. Aren’t they lovely?

  • Odd Socks Day!

    Mon 13 Nov 2023

The school has spent the morning thinking about how important it is to always be kind and to prevent bullying in any form. We have worn our odd socks proudly, drawn odd socks and have watched and discussed an anti-bullying assembly.

  • Learning all about our library!

    Mon 13 Nov 2023

What a wonderful way to start the week - all classes learnt so much from Gary’s Nan, who has many years experience working in a library. She has taught us how to look after books properly, where to find books in our library and, of course, why books are so important and exciting!

  • Mr Mayor visits Margaret Wix Primary School

    Mon 13 Nov 2023

What a wonderful assembly! The Right Worshipful the Mayor of the City and District of St Albans attended Margaret Wix Primary School. The children learnt that the Mayor is the first representative of His Majesty for the City and District and we felt very lucky to welcome him to our school. We stood up when he entered the hall; listened to the history of the role; learnt about what he does day to day and Jeremi even dressed in his special clothes. What a wonderful time we had and it is was even more special to remember that Margaret Wix was the first lady Mayor.

Thank you so much to Mr Mayor. It was extremely memorable.

  • Remembrance Day

    Fri 10 Nov 2023

Ahead of Remembrance Day this weekend, Mrs Khalid led a special assembly in which we learned why it is important that we commemorate the men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. We were lucky to have Gary share some of his and his family’s personal experiences and artefacts with us. Some children in year six also shared war poetry that they had written in English lessons.

Thank you so much with this workshop. I now feel I can support my child much better with maths.

Thank you for these sessions - I think they are very helpful. It's amazing to see how much they are and will be learning.

Thank you for today. The sessions are great!

Thank you for taking the time to do these sessions.

    I really enjoyed the session.

This was a really useful session that my child will benefit from. I feel more empowered to do the learning games at home with confidence that we are doing the right thing.

  • Aspirations Day

    Fri 03 Nov 2023

The whole school had an amazing Aspirations day! The children identified their own skills and qualities this morning and then thought about the careers they might like to pursue. Using the laptops, the children investigated the steps they would need to take in order to reach these goals. Our afternoon was a real treat: we met a fantastic group of people who shared their own personal work experiences with us and inspired us to become engineers, make up artists, doctors, event planners and more!
