A sharing assembly is always a brilliant way to start the day and year four certainly didn’t disappoint! We heard all about Apollo’s work this year, which has included:
writing Haiku poems about spring in English;
finding out about conductors and insulators in science and even making a human circuit;
visiting Verulamium museum to find out about the Romans and also learning about the Anglo-Saxons and Vikings in history lessons;
singing songs to help recall times tables, as well as lots of other mathematical learning;
lots of interesting facts about sustainability and why this is so important;
learning facts about Buddhism and humanism, including how kindness is prioritised;
developing positive relationships, managing feelings and learning how to solve friendship difficulties in PSHE, including using oracy skills;
photo editing, using skills such as cropping, in computing;
greeting each other, explaining how they are feeling, talking about the weather and even ordering food at a restaurant, in French;
creating still life artwork and sewing book covers in art and DT.
What a jam-packed year the children have had so far. Well done to all the children for sharing their learning so confidently!
