Margaret Wix Primary School

Excellence, Creativity, Individuality!

Welcome

Thank you for visiting our website and may I welcome you to Margaret Wix Primary School in St Albans. You may be looking here as a current pupil, parent or as prospective parent or pupil. I hope our website gives you all the information you need. Please feel free to contact us or do come in and visit our school to meet the staff and children and to find out more.

This website will be regularly updated to show you what the children are learning and how much fun we are having!

The information on this website should give you a flavour of our school and the enjoyment in learning that our pupils experience.

There are approximately 185 pupils in the school ranging from 3-11 years old. We have 8 classes which includes a morning Nursery. The school has a single class in every year group. Our classes are all named after types of butterfly which links to our school badge - our children are very proud of their school and feel a strong sense of belonging here.

The school has a family feel with every class having a teaching assistant in their class all day, the teachers and teaching assistants are a real team and work together to make learning fun and purposeful. As a staff team, we all work closely together to encourage children to become independent learners and to have the confidence to try something new and to be challenged in their learning. The learning environment, both indoors and outdoors, is well equipped and provides ample opportunities for children to learn and develop new skills.

We recognise every achievement made by the children and take many opportunities to praise their successes. Every Friday we have a Celebration Assembly and we welcome families to join us. In recent assemblies we have run out of chairs for parents such is their popularity!

If you wish to visit please contact the school office to arrange an appointment. The best way to appreciate what we offer is to visit and see learning in action!
