    Sun 21 Nov 2021

On Friday 19th November, the Charity Committee and the House Captains at Margaret Wix Primary School organised two events to raise money for charity and our school. The children across the school raised money for Children In Need by wearing their own clothes, including spots and stripes. Then, we spent time after school, selling cakes to raise money for school funds. Thank you to all our parents and carers for making, decorating and buying awesome treats for our house captains to sell after school. It was a wonderful day! Thank you to our pupil leadership team for organising.

When we receive her report, we will share snippets of her comments. Well done to our School Parliament and a variety of other children, who were involved in the day. Also, congratulations to Miss Ward who leads the subject throughout the school.

We are sure you will agree it looks fantastic and will be an excellent incentive for children to read 275 times and become Reading Ambassadors. Thanks to Helen Campbell - District and County Councillor - for helping us fund this project.

Come and enjoy the library with your children every Friday from 8:10. Share a story and share the experience of reading a great book

  • Tree of Promises for COP26

    Thu 04 Nov 2021

On Friday 5th November 2021, during COP26, young people and schools across the UK will form a Forest of Promises, displaying leaves made by students on a ‘tree of promises’ and starting a conversation in the wider community about the changes needed to address climate change.

Margaret Wix Primary School has created a tree of promises. Children across the school have made promises about the changes they could make to stop climate change. What a wonderful display we now have in our school hall! #PromiseToThePlanet

Parliament members from each year group have met this week to discuss a letter will be writing to Boris Johnson about tackling climate change and the actions he could take. We will send the letter next week. #savetheplanet
