  • Year 6 learning skills in the kitchen with Herts Catering

    Over the course of spring term, Monarchs Class are taking part in cookery lessons with Herts Catering as part of their DT topic. Some will also have lessons with their parents as well. The children love to prepare, sample and taste the food.

  • Natural History Museum Trip for Upper Key Stage Two

    What a great day to end the half term Monarchs and Admirals have had! We’ve enjoyed our day at the Natural History Museum in Tring where we’ve seen all kinds of weird and wonderful creatures and cemented our knowledge of evolution and inheritance by getting up close and handling a few specimen in an informative workshop. We even managed to squeeze in a quick trip to the shop and a run around the park too! Awesome hands-on learning to support an interesting science topic.

  • Kings and Queens Day at Margaret Wix Primary School

    In line with their curriculum, Key Stage One enjoyed an amazing day to enhance their learning. They had a fantastic day learning about life in medieval times! They dressed up as kings and queens, made silver coins, learnt a medieval dance, handled some toys from the past and had a banquet. The visitors really made the learning come to life.

  • Feel Good Week - Yoga Workshops

    Each class in the school had a yoga workshop to kick start our Feel Good Week to focus on our mental health as well as our physical health. The children have asked for more yoga sessions and enjoyed the calming breathing techniques.

  • Number Day to raise money for the NSPCC

    On Friday 4th February, the children at Margaret Wix Primary School, took part in the NSPCC Number Day. They worked on their "shape" masterpiece and tried out a variety of mathematical challenges, as well as wearing clothes with numbers on or their very own home made costumes. Well done for raising money for charity and enjoying yourselves!

  • Local artist, Elspeth Jackman, visits Margaret Wix Primary School.

    Elspeth Jackman - a local artist - worked with our children over the course of the week as we headed towards NSPCC Number Day. Elspeth is fascinated by patterns in nature and this week the children are looking at patterns and shape to create a whole school piece of art. Look out for this displayed on our school site.
