  • The Big Camp-Out for Year Five!

    This weekend has seen our Year Fives enjoy camping out with their classmates. They put up and slept in tents, cooked on a camp fire, competed in an archery competition, took part in a talent show, squirmed their way through bush tucker trials and played hide and seek in the dark. They really did make memories to cherish forever! 

  • The Islamic Faith in Year Six

    Monarchs were lucky to have Muhammad and Mustafa’s mums join us this afternoon in our RE lesson. We have been learning about the Islamic faith and in particular the belief in the afterlife. We found out how this belief in paradise motivates Muslims to lead good lives, including praying, giving to charity and more. We saw some beautiful prayer mats and had the opportunity to ask lots of questions too. Thank you for such a wonderful learning opportunity!

    Marcus Rashford had a wonderful afternoon this week with pizza and quidditch as a treat for winning the spring term's house points competition.

  • Bikeability for Year 6

    We are feeling proud of our year 6 pupils after they completed their Bikeability training this week. Some children had hardly ridden a bicycle before and have gained confidence this week, others made it out onto the local roads and learned how to navigate traffic, signal before turning and safely stop. Well done to all who participated!

  • Woodland Walk!

    Hummingbirds and Emperors explored the local area today with a visit to Batchwood Woods. We had our science hats on as we studied and collected many different types of flowers, leaves and seeds. These will prove very useful in our science lessons this afternoon! Mrs Arnott and Mrs Tott were really proud of all the children’s behaviour and their excellent listening skills. They also showed great curiosity

  • Hummingbirds Class Assembly

    They may be small but they are mighty! 

    A big well done to everyone in Hummingbirds for their super assembly this morning! They spoke with confidence and self belief, knowledge and enthusiasm. 

    Mrs Watkins, Mrs Arnott, Miss Cattermole and the whole school are so proud of you all.

  • Year Three Maths Team come FIRST out of 200 schools!

    We are feeling super proud this evening after hearing the AMAZING news that our year three maths challenge team came 1st out of 200 schools in the heats of the Herts Year 3 Maths Challenge!

     

    Becca, Davina, Eli and Hin scored a brilliant 193 out of 200, with full marks in 3 out of 4 of the rounds - what superstar mathematicians we have at Margaret Wix!

     

  • Margaret Wix celebrates the King's Coronation

    On Friday 5th May, Margaret Wix Primary School celebrated the King's Coronation by wearing red, white and blue, enjoying a special lunch, modelling golden crowns and taking part in a special coronation dance workshop. Fun was had by all! Congratulations to King Charles. 

  • Our littlest learners visit the signal box in St Albans.

    Firetips class have had the most amazing time at St Albans Signal Box today. They were super respectful as they said good morning to people on the public bus that we travelled on and showed great curiosity whilst at the signal box. The children asked questions, waited their turn, completed an outdoor art activity, ate lunch al fresco and learnt lots of new things. They demonstrated our super powers extremely well and we were so proud of all of our learners.
