Explorer Fun!
Emperors and Hummingbirds have really enjoyed their history workshop today using drama to find out about different explorers. Year 2 learnt so many interesting things about Christopher Columbus, Nellie Bly, Joseph Banks and Bessie Coleman and we really enjoyed dressing up too! Thank you to the Drama Hut for a really enjoyable and engaging workshop. Year 1 moved around the hall pretending to explore different places like jungle and the desert. The children then thought about different things that they would need to take on an exploration and in small groups they created the shapes of different items such as suitcase and maps with their bodies. We pretended to walk on the moon like Neil Armstrong did and then finished up the workshop by pretending to be the crew that Christopher Columbus would have had when he went exploring, including the ships dog!
